Signing the contract is a major step in the process when purchasing property.  Many people overlook critical details in the contract by rushing through the sales process and failing to obtain independent expert advice.

Before signing a Contract you should always seek independent advice from your lawyer or Registered Conveyancer. Your lawyer or conveyancer will ensure you understand your rights and obligations and are fully aware of all likely fees and charges.

Prior to signing a contract, you should also ensure that you have done your due diligence on the property.  Due diligence involves obtaining a building inspection report, talking to your neighbours, and making enquiries with the local council about any building restrictions on the property.
