“The relationship is over, what about my inheritance?”
Depending on whether you receive an inheritance during the relationship or after the relationship is over will determine how it is treated by the courts. It can either be treated as part of the asset pool or it may be counted as a financial resource. Inheritance that is received in the form of property rather than cash can further complicate matters particularly if the person who does not receive the inheritance increases the value of that property by working on it.
